You've probably called us on 0800 349 669 - easier known as 0800 FIX NOW. It's served us well and it isn't going anywhere in a hurry. But we've added a new number, and the reason behind it is to reflect the business and who we serve with the best computer repairs in Christchurch.

An 0800 number is a fine thing to have and was very useful back in the day when cell phone toll costs were high - back when it was 50c to a $1 per minute to call on your phone. So the 0800 was free to call, it's memorable, and honestly the "FIX NOW" line has become a bit of a Christchurch institution over the years and well and truly fixed in our brains! But an 0800 number could belong to almost anyone, anywhere. A call centre in another city or even another country! A business that might not be there next year. It doesn't tell you where we actually are or who they are.

An 03 number does. 03 is Christchurch and Canterbury. It says, plainly, that when you call, you're calling someone just down the road - not a call queue in another part of the country.

And that matters to us, because it's true. We've been fixing computers, laptops and everything in between from the same corner of Christchurch since 1997. We were here before the earthquakes, we were here through them, and we're still here now, still at 160b Selwyn St, still answering the phone ourselves. And we do answer. Some places you call and you go in a queue or have to wait for 20 or 30 minutes to get through. We answer 90% of calls immediately - the 10% is just when we are busy and every line is filled with a computer technician already helping someone.  Twenty-plus years in one city is long enough to stop being "a computer shop" and start being part of the neighbourhood. That's really what this new number is about. Not marketing, not a rebrand - just a number that sounds like what we are: local, established, part of this beautiful community, and not planning on being anywhere else. It sits alongside the community side of what we do too, whether that's donating refurbished laptops to local charities or just being the people you can ring when a computer's doing something weird and you don't know who else to ask.

So, two numbers, same crew. 0800 349 669 (0800 FIX NOW) still rings through exactly as it always has, and it will for a long while yet, so there's no need to panic about that fridge magnet with our number on it - but you might like to update the contact in your phone

03 3666 4357 (3666-HELP) is there now too, and over time it'll probably become the one people think of first - because it's the one that actually sounds like Christchurch.
